Located at 30th and “S” Streets, the Emma Lozier Center was completed in multiple phases during 2006 and 2008.
The first phase completely remodeled the existing church and parsonage for the school’s use. This included life safety upgrades, new classrooms, computer classrooms, and a new ADA entry.
The second phase included an addition to the garage and building exterior/security upgrades. Above the garage and secure entrance, there is a covered space that acts as an outdoor classroom and provides shade for outdoor play in the summer. The east end of this space has continuous steps and auditorium-style seating to allow for impromptu skits by the girls. The outdoor reading circle allows for local interaction and story time for younger girls. A koi pond and raised planting areas provide the necessary space for science programs. Native species were chosen for the landscaping because of their minimal maintenance requirements.
